Kickstart Role - supporting our operations

We are looking for an individual to join our team at Chapeltown Community Nursery under the government's Kickstart Scheme (the creation of new jobs for 16 to 24 year olds on Universal Credit who are at risk of long term unemployment). The individual will work closely with our management team to assist in various duties to aid the running of our successful community nursery and charity. Some of the duties will include but not be limited to: - Office and reception duties including answering phone calls, taking notes, greeting and allowing visitors entrance to the nursery. - Assisting in the maintenance of records of meetings and some financial records. - Light maintenance and cleaning of the building and its resources, e.g. small painting jobs and garden upkeep - To liaise with and communicate effectively with parents and carers, colleagues and other professionals and visitors to the nursery as appropriate - Maintaining online information about the nursery and its operations across a range of sources To explore any potential partnerships and sources of support and funding, making some initial enquiries where appropriate - To attend staff meetings and participate in training and self-development activities as required - Support the nursery in safeguarding children, such as reporting any concerns and following Leeds Safeguarding Children Partnership guidelines - To support the nursery in its charitable objectives where appropriate, helping to develop opportunities in line with our core objectives concerning play, care and the local community.
